Eastlands Community Baraza
We held a community Baraza with parents from the Eastlands community, to deliberate and discuss issues affecting our beneficiaries. This Baraza was vital in Eastlands as it came just a day before we resumed our weekend sessions after a brief break in Eastlands.
Our social workers led an engaging discussion with parents. The discussion was meant to identify issues affecting children and parents in Eastlands. Key issues affecting children in Eastlands as highlighted in the Baraza were the issue of drug and substance abuse. Children and young people are easily lured into drugs, this was a great concern for parents especially as the holiday season is set to start. Our social workers and counsellors are devising interventions to address this issue in collaboration with our community champions.
Barazas continue to inform and influence key interventions on how we can support the holistic growth of our beneficiaries not only when they are playing with us but also when they are at home.
